Torque range: stepper motor system is generally small torque (generally below 40nm) range; servo motor system can achieve full range.

Speed range: stepper motor system speed is low (generally below 2000 rpm, large torque motor is less than 1000 rpm); servo motor system speed is high (AC servo up to 5000 rpm, DC servo up to 10000 ~ 20000 RPM).

Control mode: stepper motor system is mainly position control, also can realize intelligent position / speed / torque control mode, low-speed vibration (but the use of high subdivision driver can significantly improve); servo motor system closed-loop control, smooth operation.

Precision: generally, the precision of stepping motor system is lower than that of high subdivision driver; the precision of servo motor system depends on the resolution of feedback device.

Torque frequency characteristics: when stepping motor system is at high speed, torque drops quickly; servo motor system has good torque frequency characteristics and hard characteristics.

Overload characteristics: stepping motor system will lose step when overload; servo motor has strong overload capacity.
